Peter Pan director David Lowery describes alive-action refashion As "The Revenant with flying kids"
Music director David Lowery has spoken about his upcoming picture Peter Pan off & Wendy – and made a surprising equivalence to a certain Leonardo da Vinci DiCaprio movie.
"I hesitate to use the word grounded because it has fairies and flying children in it," Lowery revealed to The Kingcast podcast (via ComicBook.com). "But when I went to talk to the studio about it I was like 'What if we stay true to the freehanded material, remove the problematical elements of both the fresh and the full of life film of course of action, but then treat information technology like The Revenant. What if we made The Recurring with flying kids?' And they were into it.
"It's not 100% like that but it's kinda the ethos by which we've gone about making it... That was kinda the idea, have it be visceral, have it be grounded, it's still joyful, IT's still booming of exuberance and magic, and then that's wherefore I wear't equivalent to use the give-and-take 'grounded.'"
Lowery's film is a survive-action remake of Disney's animated movie, which was originally free in 1953. Newcomer Alexander Molony will play Peter Tear apart, piece Ever Philip Anderson, World Health Organization played teenaged Natasha Romanoff in Black Widow, is Wendy. Jude Law is playacting villainous pirate Captain Hook. Lowery's latest movie, The Green Horse, stars Dev Patel and is currently in theaters in the US.
